Captain Ahabs began in the late 70’s in Port Jefferson NY as an antique store on Main Street that we bought the name and the contents for $175. After a few years of being antique dealers at the store we decided to try an auction at Theater Three in Port Jeff which was next door to us. That was the start of a life long auction business that began as a live auction of antiques, watches, coins, art, fossils, mineral specimens, bronzes and any items that came through the doors. Today it is an auction that is mostly small antiques and unusual collector pieces that are shipped to different places in the world.
